Skilled Nursing Services
Skilled nursing care is designed for individuals who cannot care for themselves due to physical, emotional, or mental conditions. People recovering from a serious injury or illness may need these services to regain their strength and independence.
For people who have lost their ability to function independently, these services may be a long-term need. Our nursing home staff provides assistance with bathing, dressing, eating, grooming, getting in and out of bed, moving about, incontinence care, and all activities of daily living.
With 274 beds in our skilled nursing facility, the Lutheran Home is the largest facility of its type in Southeast Missouri.
Our size allows us to provide residents with services that are not available in smaller facilities, including wound care and in-house rehabilitation therapy services.
Rehabilitation Services
The Lutheran Home offers a spacious Therapy Gym, incorporating the latest therapy equipment with a simulated home environment focusing on functional tasks. We bridge the gap between hospital and home through a comprehensive and individualized rehabilitation program, with a licensed therapy staff offering:

The Lutheran Home bridges the gap between hospital and home through a comprehensive and individualized rehabilitation program. This multi-disciplinary team approach includes physical, occupational and speech therapists.
Our skilled team works together, along with input from the resident and his or her family, with a goal of maximizing the resident’s functional independence. We strive to get individuals back home – performing many of the daily activities they engaged in before needing rehabilitation services. Care at The Lutheran Home is supervised by each residents’ physician and is carried out by a team of skilled nurses.
